Community - Based Monitoring System (CBMS)
MIMAROPA Community - Based Monitoring System started in year 2000. The CBMS Network Team headed by Dr. Celia Reyes led implementation of CBMS in Palawan. Palawan is the pilot area of CBMS implementation in the Philippines. In 2005, Marinduque was one of the three provinces chosen as beneficiary of World Bank ASEM for the Local Poverty Reduction Action Planning (LPRAP) Project using the Core Local Poverty Indicators (CLPI). DILG-BLGD adopt CBMS as data gathering tool for LPRAP. In 2007, the Regional Development Council adopted CBMS as the Regional Database. A MIMAROPA CBMS TWG consist of different Regional Line Agencies, CBMS Network Team, Proivincial Planning Development Officers of the five provinces led by NEDA was organized to implement CBMS Regionalization. CBMS Regionalization is the implementation of CBMS in all city/municipalities of the region. The MIMAROPA CBMS TWG customized a MIMAROPA CBMS questionnaire to include the development indicators of the region. Indicators on Agriculture and Tourism were included to respond to the development needs of the region.
